Nestled in the Piney Woods of East Texas, George W. Pirtle Scout Reservation is located on the banks of Lake Murval near Gary, Tx and Southwest of Carthage, Tx. Camp Pirtle has facilities for a wide range of activities from a Rifle Range, newly remodeled Archery and Shotgun Ranges, a COPE course, a 35' "Mountain" and a  60' climbing wall to a Waterfront , A lovely outdoor Chapel,  Swimming Pool and newly refurbished Council Ring. A visit to the piney woods while walking the Silver Circle Trail will provide the opportunity to view the varied flora and fauna found in the area. GWP also has a campsite geared towards handicapped Scouts and/or Scouters
Consider GWP for a Summer Camp Program that is   second to none or a laid back Winter Camp experience.

MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the George W. Pirtle Scout Reservation is to serve the needs of each Scout by providing a quality opportunity for Scouts to learn within a safe and supportive environment and to serve the members of the East Texas Area Council by continually improving the quality of our product through management and leadership dedicated to excellence.
